Five-star housebuilder Cruden Homes has started work on its new residential development at Kirkton Road in Neilston, marking a major step forward in delivering 90 new homes for the area.
The development features 66 new homes for sale in a mix of 3 and 4 bedroom terraced, semi-detached and detached styles. A further 24 new homes will be designated as affordable housing.
Work is now under way to get the site ready for the main construction programme and will continue over the coming months. The first timber kits are expected to arrive on site early next year, with the first completed homes expected next summer.
Alongside the new homes, the development will include new tree planting, sustainable drainage features and walking routes connecting the site with surrounding green space. The existing plans for the road layout, access points from Kirkton Road and wider landscape strategy will be retained as the development moves forward.
Homes will also include a range of energy-efficient features, including air-source heat pumps and electric vehicle charging provision, supporting Cruden’s commitment to creating more sustainable, energy-efficient communities.
The plans also recognise the local significance of the historic standing stone within the site. During groundworks, the stone will be carefully removed and later reinstated as a focal feature within the development.
