Five-star housebuilder Cruden Homes is celebrating a gold-standard start at The Village, its exciting new development in Glasgow’s east end, after more than 70% of homes in the first release were snapped up within days of launch. Its latest development builds on the legacy of the 2014 Commonwealth Games Athletes’ Village.

The early sales success points to significant pent-up demand for the new Dalmarnock neighbourhood, with interest continuing as Cruden looks ahead to the next phase of the flagship development.

The Village marks the latest chapter in the regeneration of Dalmarnock, where Cruden helped deliver the award-winning Athletes’ Village as part of the City Legacy Consortium for the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Since then, the area has evolved into a thriving residential community, with new homes, green spaces and local amenities helping to establish a lasting legacy for Glasgow’s east end.

The Village offers a collection of stylish, energy-efficient two and three-bedroom terraced homes, with prices starting from £229,000. The first properties are expected to be ready from Spring 2027.

Located in one of Glasgow’s fastest-growing neighbourhoods, the development gives buyers access to a wide range of amenities close to home, including shops, a supermarket, parks, a school and nursery, alongside strong public transport connections across the city.

Homes at The Village have been designed with energy efficiency in mind, with contemporary layouts and a high-quality specification throughout. Features including solar panels, a fabric first design approach and ducting for future EV charging will help support more sustainable living.

The development also includes a mix of house types intended to appeal to buyers at different stages of life, from those purchasing their first home to couples and families looking for more space.

The rapid take-up of the first release follows strong interest ahead of the launch, with buyers moving quickly to secure their preferred plots.

Hazel Davies, Sales and Marketing Director at Cruden Homes, said: “The response to The Village has been phenomenal. To see more than 70% of our first release reserved within just days of launch is an incredible start and shows just how much appetite there is for high-quality new homes in Dalmarnock.

“Having played a key role in delivering the original Athletes’ Village, it’s particularly exciting for Cruden to be building on that legacy and helping shape the next chapter for this thriving community.

“The Village brings together stylish, energy-efficient homes, excellent connections and a fantastic range of local amenities, so it’s easy to see why buyers are so enthusiastic. With such a strong start and limited availability remaining in the first sales release, we’re looking forward to building on this momentum as we prepare for the launch of the next phase of homes.”

Cruden’s sales team is currently based at the nearby King’s View development at 3 Mire View, Toryglen, G42 0AR, around a 12-minute drive from The Village. Buyers can visit the team to explore development plans and specifications and find out more about current and upcoming availability.
